Most of these tools are built to share one photo rather than force you to re-upload a new picture for every idea. Take one clear shot of your house exterior or a room, run it through the roof visualizer, then the same photo through the house painter, then the curb appeal rater — each pass edits the picture you already uploaded instead of starting over from a blank prompt. That matters because a renovation decision rarely happens in isolation: a new roof color changes what siding color looks right, and a new siding color changes what the front door and trim should be, so seeing them on the same base photo, one change at a time, is closer to how the decision actually gets made.
The Home Design Studio is the entry point for this: it keeps your uploaded photo in one place and lets you jump between the exterior, interior, and outdoor tools listed on this page without re-uploading. If you would rather work tool-by-tool, every page below still accepts its own upload independently — the studio is a convenience, not a requirement.
The tools on this page fall into three rough groups that are meant to be used in sequence rather than as one-off gimmicks. Exterior tools (roof, siding paint, windows, doors, driveway, fence) change what the house looks like from the street. Interior tools (room design, ceilings, furniture, staging) change what a room looks like once you are inside it. Analyser tools — the Curb Appeal Rater and the Interior Design Rater — don't generate a new image at all; they look at a photo (yours, before or after a change) and call out specific things worth fixing, like a bare foundation line or a cluttered mantel, so you know where to point the generation tools next.
A typical flow looks like: rate the current curb appeal, act on the two or three specific notes it gives with the paint or roof tool, then rate the result again to see whether the specific issues actually got addressed. The same loop works indoors with the interior rater and the room design or furniture tools.
For a full exterior overhaul — siding material, trim color, and roofline all at once — start with AI House Design. If you only want to test paint colors without touching anything structural, AI House Painter is the narrower, faster tool for that one job. For individual elements, use the Roof Visualizer for shingle or tile changes, the Door Visualizer for a new front or garage door, the Window Replacement tool for frame style and grille pattern, and the Driveway Design tool for paving material. If you already know the exact main, trim, and accent colors you want to compare side by side, the Color Combination AI renders all three at once instead of one flat color swap. Once you've made changes, run the Curb Appeal Rater to see what still needs attention, and the House Style Identifier if you're not sure what architectural style you're even working within — it helps keep new elements consistent with what the house already is.
AI Interior Design is the general-purpose room tool for changing wall color, flooring, and overall style in an existing room. For specific room types with their own layout concerns, use AI Kitchen Design, AI Bedroom Design, or AI Bathroom Design. If a room is empty and you want to see it furnished for a listing, Virtual Staging does that; if it's the opposite problem — a room is too full and you want to see it cleared out — use Furniture Removal or the more general Declutter tool. To swap out specific pieces rather than the whole room, Furniture Replacement and Furniture Color Changer handle that, and Ceiling Design covers coffered, tray, and beam treatments overhead. For material-specific swaps on walls and floors, see the dedicated Wall Changer and Floor Changer tools. If an object in the shot is a distraction rather than furniture — a car in the driveway, a stray cable, a sign — the general-purpose AI Object Remover handles that cleanup on either exterior or interior photos.
The yard tools cover the space around the house: Landscaping & Yard Design for planting beds, lawn, and hardscape; Pool Design for backyard swimming pools; Deck & Patio Design for outdoor living surfaces; and Fence Design for boundary and privacy fencing. If you're weighing an extension rather than a yard feature, the Home Addition Visualizer shows a new room or wing attached to the existing structure. And if you want to see how any exterior change reads after dark rather than only in daylight, run it through Day to Dusk.
Before any of the visual tools, two planning tools are worth a look. Floor Plan Generator turns a text description into a layout, useful when you're still deciding on room arrangement rather than finish materials. Renovation Cost Estimator gives a rough budget range and breakdown so you have a ballpark before calling contractors — it's an estimate, not a quote. For a full architectural render from a sketch or reference, AI Architecture Design and Remodel AI handle bigger structural changes than the single-element tools above.
Every tool on this page works from a photo you already have — a phone shot is fine, a professional listing photo is not required. The quality of the result depends much more on framing and light than on camera quality.
For exterior work, stand back far enough to get the full roofline, both sides of the front door, and the driveway or walkway in one shot — a cropped photo forces the AI to guess at what's outside the frame. For interior rooms, a corner-to-corner angle that shows two walls and the floor gives the tools more to work with than a straight-on shot of a single wall.
Overcast daylight or open shade gives the most even, true-to-color base photo — harsh midday sun creates deep shadows that can get baked into a generated material or paint color, and dusk or indoor lighting shifts colors warm in a way that makes color changes hard to judge afterward. If you specifically want a dusk or evening look, generate it with the Day to Dusk tool rather than shooting at dusk to begin with, since a well-lit daytime photo gives the tool more detail to work from.
The most useful render is one taken from the angle you actually look at the space from day to day — the view from the street as you pull into the driveway, or the doorway view of a room as you walk in. A dramatic wide-angle shot from an unusual angle might look more impressive, but it makes the before-and-after harder to judge honestly, since a change that looks good in a stretched wide-angle photo doesn't always look the same from your normal vantage point.
